Dear participants

On behalf of the Scientific Committee, it is with great pleasure that I invite you to the 2022 edition of Curietherapies’ conferences which will take place in Montreal, Canada.

Radiotherapy’s journey started with brachytherapy 120 years ago. During this time period, every development of external beam radiotherapy was made to mimic brachytherapy’s precise nature. Nevertheless, over the years brachytherapy remains a high-value cancer treatment capable of delivering high doses in a small volume which is perfectly suitable for ablative therapy

Ten years ago, Curietherapies was founded with the idea to further increase knowledge about brachytherapy which will make it accessible for cancer patients and will reinforced the use of brachytherapy as an important part of multidisciplinary cancer treatment. 

This year’s theme “Moving brachytherapy forward” is pointing to the future which awaits brachytherapy while looking at it’s past. we will discuss different indications for brachytherapy. The interdisciplinary sessions will showcase breast, gynecology, head and neck, prostate brachytherapy and much more. Furthermore, you will be able to improve your technical skills during our hands on mini workshops on breast and skin brachytherapy. Additionally, two new sessions were added on important topics such as Imaging and teaching. Attendees will also learn about various disease sites which could be treated by brachytherapy.

With this program, Curietherapies wants to ponder on brachytherapy precision the extent of it’s indications and the necessity of teaching the skills needed to it’s practice. Furthermore, we want to recognize the importance of all professionals involved in the field, this conference is design to increase their level of knowledge and skills required to improve their confidence using brachytherapy. We all share the common goal of improving patients’ outcomes while keeping brachytherapy alive.
